The Mo&Friese Children’s Short Film Festival is turning 15...
...and you can only turn 15 once!
And like all birthday children, we don’t want to celebrate on our own. Since we want to make sure that our guests will be having as much fun as we will, we have prepared lots of colourful surprises for you.
We compiled thirteen programmes with short films from all over the world and we are now looking forward to wide eyes and lots of opinions. For once again there will be plenty of film makers ready to answer your questions and to give a few surprising insights into their craft.
On 2 June we’ll be opening at the Zeise Kinos at 3 pm with 15 extra big slices of festive goodness! You are invited to join us after the anniversary programme at our birthday party with lots of games and handicrafts. And if you had always been secretly wishing that you could take a bit of the Mo&Friese fun home with you, you’ll be glad to hear that you can do so with our new "Mo&Friese Pay a Visit" DVD.
Getting older takes a lot of courage. All of a sudden you are supposed to walk home all on your own, you’re seriously supposed to eat all the peas on your table, or you’ll have to calm your beating heart in order to ask the boy you have been secretly fancying for months out to the cinema.
That is why courage is at the centre of this year’s HIGH FIVE! competition. And the cinematic presents we received in it once again left us speechless with joy. Thanks a lot – it was exactly what we were wishing for, and so much more!
But HIGH FIVE! isn’t the only opportunity for children to participate in the festival. As in every year, the Mo&Friese children’s juries will be selecting the great winners at the award ceremony. Alternatively, young film lovers can register as an official Mo&Friese reporter and investigate the inner workings of the festival with their exclusive press card. With it, they will be able to watch all of the programmes and even make their opinions and insights heard by the whole world.
We are also offering additional pedagogical material with each of the competition programmes, giving teachers and parents the opportunity to fully integrate them at school or at home (only in German).
Those grownups who feel a bit out of place at a children’s birthday party, are invited to join us at the Mo&Friese Late Night. On 6 June at 9:45 pm we’ll be screening a colourful selection of Mo&Friese short films from all age groups at the 3001 Kino.
On top of all that, Mo&Friese will be crossing the Elbe again after staying north of it last year. We are looking forward to presenting short films at the RIALTO Lichtspiele in Wilhelmsburg once again.
The award ceremony will take place on 9 June at 2 pm at the Zeise Kinos. There our children’s juries will award the much sought-after trophies and awards, which are once again sponsored by GEOlino and the Levantehaus, to the winning directors.
